As a middle sized family company we are located in Gauting, close to Munich. Since over a century, everything in the house spins around precision engineering and systems.
Structure used since a year one, that is to cover anything possible within precision engineering – such as gear cutting, automated turning, grinding, honing, milling, surfaces´ processing etc. – is still consequently being done nowadays.
We produce as single workpiece- as well batch production, starting from a sample, over the 0-series to the batch production itself.

With Volker Mackert, we are gaining an internationally experienced industry insider. He supports our managing directors Heidrun Dietl and Sabine Stadler in the field of strategic development.

Over 60 full time employees belong to our team. Whereas the number of technical workers in house is more than 90%.

Our roots form the future
As the clock maker Georg Dietl founded DIETL in Gauting in 1909, he only had a little idea about his company once being a specialist in the production of precise engineering parts that would be produced using computerized machining and used worldwide.
DIETL is another word for precision
Since its establishment, our company stayed in the hands of the family. And also the special relationship to the production sphere of precise engineering could have always been handed over to the next generation.
As we look back, we are full of pride: but we prefer to look forward. Because the experience is important, but we concentrate on the curiosity, on the new things that need to be tried in order to keep with the hands of time.

4 generations in history [ies]
By opening the second production site in Gauting we want to continue the gradual implementation of further automation and networking.
The course for the next generation is being set: both daughters Sabine Stadler and Heidrun Dietl come aboard.
The sons Helmuth and Klaus Dietl take over the lead in the company after the death of their father.
The order for the production of telephone gears for Siemens was the reason for the first steps towards automation. This is how the small family firm became step by step a precise engineering company. It was necessary to extend the founders´ villa.
Georg Dietl Senior as a skilled clock maker, establishes a family company DIETL Feinmechanik in Gauting. The building housing administrative premises today was his house as well as workshop of the founding family.
Volker Mackert joined our family company as an internationally experienced managing director. His task is to implement defined strategies for the further development and securing the future of the company in a holistic and sustainable manner.
Helmuth Dietl takes over as single general director after Klaus Dietl has passed away. The original structure persisting since the establishment of the company is being maintained and developed in the whole field of production as automated turning, grinding, honing, milling etc.
In the years after war the company kept expanding, so that it was necessary to build new production halls spreading on ca. 1.000 m². Having procured new machinery for almost all the precise engineering fields was a basis for an independent mechanic production.
Both sons Georg and Karl Dietl follow in their father´s footsteps and after having completed their education in precise engineering take over the company.
